Hydrophilic Fumed Silica Application
1. Silicone Rubber
Used as a reinforcing filler in high-temperature vulcanized (HTV) silicone rubber and two-component room-temperature vulcanized (RTV-2K) silicone rubber. It significantly improves tensile strength, tear strength, and abrasion resistance in products such as silicone keypads, seals, hoses, and wire/cable insulation.
2. Coatings, Inks & Adhesives
Acts as a rheology control agent in paints, printing inks, and adhesives. It provides thickening, thixotropy, anti-settling, and anti-sagging properties, while improving pigment dispersion and film adhesion.
3. Cable Materials
Used in cable insulation compounds and cable gels, particularly for fiber optic cables. It provides shear-thinning behavior, fast recovery, and good electrical insulation, protecting cables from moisture and mechanical stress.
4. Powder Additives
Functions as an anti-caking and free-flow agent in powder coatings, agricultural chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetic powders. It forms a protective layer around particles, absorbs moisture, and improves powder flowability.
