In hot-melt road-marking paints, C5 petroleum resin offers a light color, low odor and instant compatibility with EVA, plasticizers and glass beads; its 100 °C softening point gives the film fast dry, high early crush resistance and excellent weatherability. Loading 8–12 % increases glass-bead anchorage by over 30 %, keeping the retro-reflectivity ≥250 mcd·m⁻²·lx⁻¹ at night, while the cured line remains crack-free at –20 °C and anti-stick at 80 °C-class paints.
