Crosile®75 (Bis(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)disulfide) TESPD is a bifunction polysulfidic organosilane and has been widely in the rubber industry. Crosile®75 TESPD is used to improve the reinforcing capability of fillers with silanol group on the their surface, and also as an integral part of curing systems to improve cross-linking network properties. Compared to the Crosile®69 (Bis(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)tetrasulfide), Crosile®75 has a higher temperature stability and therefore allows higher mixing temperatures. Crosile®75 imparts greater tensile strength, higher module, reduced compression set, increased abrasion. resistance and optimized dynamic properties.
A comparative study of α- and γ-functional silane coupling agents in silica-filled SBR vulcanized with conventional sulfur systems shows that the effects of silanes on vulcanization kinetics and their coupling effects depend on their structure and location. Rubber reactive groups. All tested silanes containing mercapto or sulfide functional groups resulted in improvements in tensile properties and affected the cure kinetics of the systems used.
