Crosile®966 Mono Sulfur silane Coupling agent
Physical Properties:
Crosile-996 is a Mono Sulfur silane that can reduce rolling resistance while maintaining wet traction. Compared to conventional silane coupling agents like Crosile-69 and Crosile-75;Crosile-996 offers superior processing performance and can improve the overall production efficiency of tires.
Applications and Performance
Crosile®-996 – High-performance organosilane for silica-rich tire-tread compounds
A single-step, eco-friendly silane that unlocks ultra-low rolling resistance, winter-grade elasticity and class-leading wet traction in high-loading silica formulations.
1.Lower Rolling Resistance – verified
- Generates a strong filler–rubber network (enhanced Payne effect)
- Drops tan δ 50–60 °C by 15–25 % → ≥ 4 % reduction in RRC (rolling-resistance coefficient)
- One-shot addition eliminates multi-step mixing, cutting VOC emissions and energy use
2. Winter & Wet Performance – retained
- Dynamic modulus advantage from –20 °C to +10 °C → shorter braking on cold/wet roads
- tan δ @ 0 °C kept high enough to preserve wet grip while fuel-saving
3.Processing Efficiency – boosted
- Acts as internal silica dispersant → 10–15 % lower Mooney viscosity
- Shortens mixing cycles, improves extrusion surface, reduces die-build-up
- Compatible with ≥ 80 phr silica without loss of scorch safety
Target application
Passenger-car green tires, all-season & winter compounds, HP/UHP segments – any tread stock demanding < 7 kg t-1 CO₂ savings with A-grade wet grip.
