Silane Coupling Agent Crosile189 3-Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane in Rubber Industry
Chemical Properties
Crosile®189 (3-mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane (MPTMS) is an Organo silane with a thiol group, which can be used as a self-assembled monolayer (SAM). It can be used as a conjunction reagent to immobilize a variety of nanoparticles.
Crosile®189 (3-Mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane (MPS) is predominantly used as a precursor for silica.

Application
Crosile®189 (3-Mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane was used as the capping molecule for cadmium sulfide nanocrystals. For the preparation of multi-walled carbon nanotubes and double-layer modified gold electrodes. Crosile®189 Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane acts as a linker molecule for the preparation of gold multilayers, and as a molecular binder for the fabrication of vapor-deposited gold electrodes on glass substrates. Crosile®189 is also used as a precursor for silica.
MPTMS can be coated with TiO2, CeO2 and La2O3 to prevent quaternary bronze corrosion in urban atmospheres. Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane can also be used as a silica nanofluid (NF) to modify the surface of Beria sandstone to improve the field of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) in the petroleum industry. MPTMS forms a composite material with kaolin, which can be used as an absorbent for heavy metal removal in wastewater. MPTMS can form bilayers with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) on gold electrodes, which can be used to study the electrochemical properties of fluphenazine.
